The Micro-architecture of Plants

In this workshop we’ll explore cameraless photography techniques, both digital (scanography) and historical (Van Dyke Brown), to dive into the microstructure of natural elements collected in the vicinity of Palácio Sinel de Cordes, observing its formulas and geometric progressions. The photographic prints will be the starting point for the exploration of the image through direct architectural drawing. 

PROGRAMME:

Collection of natural elements
Scanning of natural elements in high resolution
Analysis of scan results and selection of compositions to be printed
Preparation and printing of negatives
Introduction to the Van Dyck brown printing process
Printing of the images in Van Dyck brown
Creation of drawings on prints
