Urban Permaculture: The Countryside in the City

O Campo na Cidade
©AntonioMiranda
This workshop presents the fundamentals of Permaculture and its applications in urban context. A system of agricultural and social principles, it offers practical tools that inspire solutions to everyday challenges. It also proposes a design method for sustainable, socially fair and ecologically sound human habitats as an alternative to existing land planning practices. The two-day program has a strong practical and observational component of HortaFCUL, and includes a theoretical introduction addressing the context and genesis of Permaculture, its principles, techniques and practice. For young adults over 16 years of age, the workshop is taking place at the Science Faculty of Lisbon University.

Observations
Horta FCUL considers that the price should not be a barrier to participation, and that there are other ways to contribute. Saturday lunch will be shared and each participant will bring something. Participants should also bring shoes and clothing that do not mind getting dirty, as they will put their hands on the ground.
