Padrão dos Descobrimentos

Built in 1940, ephemerally and integrated into the Portuguese World Exhibition, it was designed by architect Cottinelli Telmo and sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida. In 1960 it was rebuilt with new materials and, twenty-five years later, the architect Fernando Ramalho remodeled the interior, providing the Padrão with a viewpoint, auditorium and exhibition halls.
